Energy Auditing and Building Energy Analysis

We can provide energy modeling and necessary audit reports to businesses and individuals who are interested in energy efficiency and building performance issues. We utilize complex computer modeling and software developed under funding from the US Department of Energy with proven statistical track record of accuracy.

DOE2

DOE-2 is a widely used and accepted building energy analysis program that can predict the energy use and cost for all types of buildings. DOE-2 uses a description of the building layout, constructions, operating schedules, conditioning systems (lighting, HVAC, etc.) and utility rates provided by the user, along with weather data, to perform an hourly simulation of the building and to estimate utility bills.

e-quest

eQUEST® is a sophisticated building energy use analysis tool that provides professional-level results. eQUEST was designed to allow to perform detailed comparative analysis of building designs and technologies by applying sophisticated building energy use simulation techniques.

eQUEST is a registered trademark of James J. Hirsch. PowerDOE is a registered trademark of the Electric Power Research Institute.

To gather the descrete data needed for the energy audit, we perform any of the following tests:

blower door test

Blower door test:
This is a standard diagnostic test to measure the air tightness of a building and gather information about overall infiltration and locate air leakages. This data is essential in analysing the energy efficiency of a building and determining the energy conservation strategy.

IR thermography

Infra-red thermography:
A thermography inspeciton uses an infrared camera to study the surface temperature of the building components and determine the heat loss patterns and possible causes of abnormal heat variation. This critical information is used to determine the overall energy management efficacy of a building envelope and target the remediation efforts.
